AZERBAIJANI AND ARMENIAN STUDENTS CLASH IN MOSCOW
At least three Azerbaijani students were injured in a clash between Azerbaijani and Armenian students after the May Day celebrations at the Peoples` Friendship University in the Russian capital, Moscow.
One of Azerbaijani students said the clash was provoked by Armenian students dancing and waiving the flag of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh republic.
Azerbaijani students asked the University’s security guards to calm the Armenian side, but the attempts were useless.
A long wordy duel between two groups of the students led to the clash in which one Azerbaijani student received bullet wound in his arm and two others were hit and stabbed with sharp-edged instruments.
All the three students have been hospitalized, and are now reported to be in stable condition.
Investigations are being carried out to try to establish the cause of the incident.
