Azerbaijani delegation holds several meetings in Romania
Bucharest, April 16 (AZERTAC). An Azerbaijani delegation led by Energy Minister Natig Aliyev and SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev has visited Bucharest, Romania.
The delegation included Vice President of the SOCAR Elshad Nasirov, Adviser to the SOCAR President Murad Heydarov, Deputy Vice President Vitaly Beylerbayov, and representative of the Energy Ministry Rauf Hasanov.
The delegation first visited the Park Tei - Alley Heydar Aliyev to lay flowers at a monument to the national leader.
The delegation then met newly appointed Romanian Economy Minister Constantin Nita.
The meeting was attended by the Ministry’s state secretaries, advisers, presidents of the oil ad gas companies operating in Romania, employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Romania and SOCAR office in Bucharest.
Minister Constantin Nita spoke of the bilateral relations, as well as strategic partnership between the two countries, and gave information about the economic achievements.
The Minister lauded the SOCAR office`s activity as fruitful, especially professionalism of the Director of the Office Hamza Karimov, and expressed hope that apart from building new filling stations, SOCAR will also show interest to the drilling, oil producing and other fields.
He also noted the necessity of increasing the trade between Azerbaijan and Romania.
He expressed the government’s readiness to cooperate with Azerbaijan on all fronts.
The Azerbaijani Minister highlighted the history of the fraternal and strategic relations between the two countries, as well as the two countries’ presidents meetings, Romanian Premier Victor Ponta’s visit to Azerbaijan and discussions held as part of the visit.
Natig Aliyev thanked the Romanian Government and President for supporting Azerbaijan’s fair position within international organizations. He praised the energy cooperation between the two countries.
The Minister said there was great potential for expanding SOCAR’s activity in Romania.
He also noted that SOCAR’s filling stations had been operating in Romania, and the company was interested in increasing number of these stations.
He also spoke of the possibility of implementing joint projects with Turkish “Petkim” oil-chemistry complex and Romanian “Oltchim” chemistry plant.
Speaking of the AGRI project, Natig Aliyev noted that the decision would be adopted according to the technical-economic parameters.
The Minister noted the importance of the creating relations between Romanian and Azerbaijani mechanical engineering plants.
SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev touched upon the current state of the trade turnover between Romania and Azerbaijan.
He said that SOCAR’s trade in Romania amounted to 270 million Euros.
Rovnag Abdullayev noted that SOCAR Vice President Davud Mammadov and Head of the Observation Council of SOCAR’s Production Association “Azerkimya” Mukhtar Babayev visited the “Oltchim” company as part of their visit to Romania in December of last year.
The delegation also met Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
They hailed the current state of the strategic partnership relations between the two countries and discussed investment projects.
The Premier praised the SOCAR’s activity in Romania.
The Romanian Premier said that as a member of the European Union, the country was ready to support all joint energy projects of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the region, and also the country’s investments in Romania.
The Azerbaijani delegation noted that the cooperation between the two countries would continue to develop on all fronts.
The delegation then visited SOCAR’s Romania Office.
