Azerbaijani FM meets Special Representative of OSCE Chairman-in Office
Baku, April 16 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met a delegation led by Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in Office Andrey Deshitsa.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the planned visit of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office to Azerbaijan, as well as items on OSCE agenda.
Mammadyarov stressed that the prolongation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was the main barrier to the efforts aimed at restoring durable peace and stability in the region and that in the first place, Armenian armed forces must withdraw from occupied territories of Azerbaijan to pave the way for the final solution to the conflict. The Foreign Minister also remarked that Armenian political leadership maintains non-constructive stance at the peace talks and underlined the importance of the OSCE stepping up its efforts at the settlement process.
Touching on the statements of the Armenian leadership regarding their plans to operate flights from Khojaly airport, Minister Mammadyarov emphasized that such a move would violate the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation and all international norms and regulations justifies Azerbaijan position on the issue.
