AZERBAIJANI FM TO PARTICIPATE IN 11TH SESSION OF ISLAMIC SUMMIT CONFERENCE
Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov left for Dakar, Senegal on Tuesday to participate in the Summit of Organization of the Islamic Conference.
Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadigov represents Azerbaijan in the Preparatory Meeting of the Foreign Ministers for the 11th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference, which commenced March 10.
Preparatory meeting discussed the OIC Ten-year Programme of Action, revised OIC charter, etc.
The agenda also included situation in the Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq and Somalia as well as the Darfur conflict. The issues of Islamophobia and Special Development Programme for Africa also came up on the agenda.
The documents adopted at the meeting will be presented to the Summit to be held on March 13-14.
