AZERBAIJANI FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS UAE MINISTER OF ECONOMY IN ABU DHABI
Elmar Mammadyarov, Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan yesterday met with the minister of economy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sultan bin Said al-Mansuri wihtin the framework of his visit to this country.
Speaking about the work done to develop oil, non-oil and tourism sectors in Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammadyarov stressed Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to UAE in 2006 opened new opportunities in the expansion of bilateral relations.
Mr. Mammadyarov emphasized the necessity of expansion of Azerbaijan-UAE bilateral relations, noting that cooperation within the regional projects was possible between the two countries.
The Azerbaijani Minister underlined the possibility of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line’s linking up with the railway line to be built in the Gulf region.
Mr. Sultan bin Said al-Mansuri spoke about economic relations between Azerbaijan and UAE, adding that increasing trade turnover is necessary, too.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the existance of airline between the two countries.
He notified Azerbaijan and UAE had opportunities to create joint enterprises in Third Countries and proposed to include this matter in the agenda of the Intergovermental Economic Comission’s next meeting.
Mr. Mammadyarov said these issues would be discussed during the visit of the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Azerbaijan.
The sides also exchaged views on regional and international issues and other issues of mutual interest.
