AZERBAIJANI INTERIOR MINISTER MEETS EU SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE FOR CENTRAL ASIA
Ramil Usubov, Interior Minister of Azerbaijan Friday met with European Union’s Special Representative for Central Asia Pierre Morel and his accompanying delegation.
Azerbaijani Minister informed the delegation on the legal and democratic reforms carried out under President Ilham Aliyev’s leadership in Azerbaijan, as well as the current situation of cooperation between Azerbaijani Interior Ministry and European Union’s relevant bodies.
Ramil Usubov said democratic principles, protection of human rights were priority matters for Azerbaijani law enforcement bodies.
He also stressed that according to the Azerbaijani President’s order on “Establishment of State Commission on Azerbaijan’s integration into Europe” substantial work had been done in preparation of Action Plan and creation of working groups on security, human rights and democratization.
The world community has to fight transnational organized crime, terrorism, illegal migration, human trafficking, illegal drug trade and other dangerous factors, said Ramil Usubov.
Pierre Morel, saying that his visit aims at gathering detailed information about Azerbaijan expressed his satisfaction with the development of EU-Azerbaijan cooperation.
