Azerbaijani karate fighters to vie for European medals
Baku, April 23 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani karate fighters will contest medals at the 49th European Senior Championships to take place in Tampere, Finland, from May 1-4.
The Azerbaijani squad includes Majid Amirov weighing in at 60kg, Niyazi Aliyev at 67kg, Aykhan Mamayev at 84kg, Shahin Atamov at over 84kg, Nurana Aliyeva at 50kg and Ilaha Gasimova at 55kg.
In the kumite individual event, Azerbaijan`s hopes will be pinned on Farida Abiyeva, while Asiman Gurbanli, Rafiz Hasanov and Tural Agalarzade will fight in the kumite event.
Tural Baljanli will be in action in the individual kata event.
