Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and High Technologies meets Chinese ambassador
Baku, April 25 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov has met Chinese ambassador to Azerbaijan Hong Jiuyin.
Noting relations between the two countries in all areas are based on the principles of friendship and partnership, Minister Ali Abbasov spoke about ongoing reforms in Azerbaijan, achievements in the ICT sector, as well as large-scale measures aimed at development of high technologies.
Saying the country has increased attention to innovative, economic development model, the minister noted a wide range of opportunities for attracting foreign investments, the creation of a favorable business environment, and spoke about the expansion of activities of China’s ICT companies in Azerbaijani market.
Noting Azerbaijan is a reliable strategic partner of China, Hong Jiuyin said that his country is interested in establishing friendly relations and partnership with Azerbaijan, and added that there are ample opportunities for further expansion of cooperation.
Praising Azerbaijan’s achievements in terms of rapid development of economy, the diplomat said that he is closely monitoring the country’s achievements in the field of ICT.
Noting the interest of Chinese companies in investing in this sector of Azerbaijan, the ambassador said companies, in particular Huawei, ZTE have increased their activities. It was noted at the meeting that China Telecom is one of the major telecom operators of the project TASIM (Trans-Eurasian Information Super Highway) and this fact is commendable. The diplomat said Chinese companies also want to contribute to the development of the space industry of Azerbaijan and brought to the attention that they will actively participate in the upcoming bidding for the next satellite projects.
In turn, noting interest in further expansion of cooperation between the two countries, the minister wished the ambassador success in his diplomatic mission.
