AZERBAIJANI OMBUDSPERSON MAKES STATEMENT ON MAY 8 – SHUSHA OCCUPATION DAY
The statement says “Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan resulted not only in occupation of Azerbaijani lands and displacement of over one million people from their lands, but also in destruction of historical, cultural and religious monuments.
Armenia destroys the cultural wealth of Azerbaijani nation by ignoring resolutions of international structures. Armenian nationalists steal the folk music, literary samples and other moral values of Azerbaijani nation.
By carrying out archeological excavations in 200 graves of the Bronze Age in Shusha city - the cultural cradle of Azerbaijan- Armenian nationalists once again demonstrate their attitude to the international legal norms.
The ombudsperson called on the international structures and the world’s nations to stop the Armenian aggression and massacre against Azerbaijan, to peacefully solve the conflict, implement UN resolution regarding the situation on the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, give back the occupied territories, return thousands of Azerbaijanis, who became refugees and IDPs to their lands and restore their rights”.
