Azerbaijani weightlifters shine with 19 medals at European Championship

Azerbaijani weightlifters excelled at the European Championship in equipped bench press, deadlift, and strict curl held in Trutnov, the Czech Republic.
In equipped bench press, Azerbaijan claimed two golds. Ali Aliyev, who ranked the 1st place among seniors’ 140 kg weight division, also achieved the best performance ever setting a new world record.
In deadlift program, Azerbaijan secured five golds and three silvers.
In strict curl event, Azerbaijan recorded a haul of five gold, three silver, and one bronze medals.
In total, the competition brought together up to 500 athletes from 40 countries.
