Azerbaijan`s ambassador delivers report at University of San Diego
Baku, April 18 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s ambassador to US Elin Suleymanov has delivered a report titled “The changing regional dynamics of Eurasia: a view from Azerbaijan” at the University of San Diego (SDSU).
Prior to the meeting, Mr. Suleymanov has met President of the University Elliot Hirshman, Dean of the College of Arts and Letters and Director of International Partnerships Paul Wong and Director of SDSU`s Charles Hostler Institute for World Affairs.
They discussed cooperative opportunities between Azerbaijan`s Higher Schools and University of San Diego.
Mr Suleymanov briefed participants on Azerbaijan`s role in the regional developing processes, as well as the country`s contributions to the energy, security and transportation spheres from Central and Southern Asia to Europe.
He also touched upon the main energy and transport projects carried out in the country, as well as Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC), the Trans-Anatolian (TANAP), Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
On geopolitical and geostrategic importance of Azerbaijan, the diplomat stressed the importance of establishing peace in the region, adding protracted conflicts impeded the regional integration.
The ambassador described the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey cooperation as an exemplary for other countries of the region.
