Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Germany interviewed by culture exchange portal
Berlin, April 23 (AZERTAC). The globe-M, exchange portal for the German cultural and art community, has interviewed Azerbaijani ambassador Parviz Shahbazov on the Azerbaijani culture and its popularization in the world in particular in Germany.
The ambassador first shared his impressions on his diplomatic activity in Germany, characteristics of German and Berlin, ideas about Germany in Azerbaijan, Germany`s recognition in Azerbaijan as the country of “industry, science, research and philosophers.”
Shahbazov said that Azerbaijan is one of the cradles of the world civilization, the country whose culture is based on religious tolerance and noted that peaceful coexistence of peoples, cultures and religious in Azerbaijan is behind the cultural wealth and diversity of the country.
Asked about which aspects of the Azerbaijani culture are the best to popularize in Germany, Shahbazov noted that Azerbaijani music including synthesis of jazz and mugham, ashig music, Azerbaijani classic poetry, national carpets, modern art genre are welcomed with great interest by the European and German public.
When asked about which organizations are responsible for popularization of the Azerbaijani culture, the ambassador said that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is the coordinator of this work, adding that the embassy and Diaspora organizations provide assistance in establishment of cooperation and contacts with the Azerbaijani side in the sphere of culture. Shahbazov called as successful the Azerbaijani culture popularization projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Germany.
The ambassador also touched upon trends in the Azerbaijani art, the role of chess in Azerbaijan, the youth`s contribution to the development of modern art in Azerbaijan. Shahbazov said that Azerbaijan`s rich culture is the treasure for country`s integration in the world community and participation in the intercultural dialogue.
