AZERBAIJAN’S EMBASSY TO SPAIN MARKS WORLD AZERBAIJANIS SOLIDARITY DAY
Azerbaijan’s embassy to the Kingdom of Spain hosted on Thursday a celebration to mark the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day with representatives of Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas in attendance.
At the opening ceremony, ambassador M. Aliyev read out the address by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to World Azerbaijanis on the occasion, the embassy said.
Aliyev, then, spoke about the history of the holiday and said it is directly connected with the name of Azerbaijan’s nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev. He added that the idea of gathering representatives of the Azerbaijani diasporas from across the world and holding the congresses of Azerbaijanis in Baku belongs to Heydar Aliyev, too.
He underlined “today, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev successfully continues late president Heydar Aliyev’s political course, which allowed to increase Azerbaijan’s international prestige and gain success in the socio-economic field”.
The event was followed by the holiday reception
