AZERBAIJAN’S FIRST LADY ATTENDS INAUGURATION OF AZERBAIJAN HALL IN GENEVA
Visiting Geneva, Switzerland, to participate in the 60th World Health Assembly, Azerbaijan’s first lady, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan Hall at the United Nations Geneva office headquarters.The ceremony gathered representatives from the diplomatic corps, international organizations and Azerbaijan’s permanent representative office to the UN.
Mehriban Aliyeva and Director General of the UN Geneva office Sergei Orjonikidze cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the Hall.Speaking at the event, Azerbaijan’s first lady expressed her gratitude to the UN Geneva office for participating in establishing the Azerbaijan Hall.
Mrs. Aliyeva spoke of huge projects being implemented in her 
country, adding Azerbaijan’s economy is rapidly developing.

On the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation said Armenia occupied twenty percent of her country’s territory, forcing over one million 
Azerbaijanis to flee their homes and become refugees or internally displaced.

The Azerbaijani first lady called on all international organizations to use their influence for peaceful settlement of the dispute.
