AZERBAIJAN’S JUSTICE MINISTER MEETS CRC CHAIRMAN
Azerbaijan`s Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov met July 10 with visiting Chairman of UN Committee on the Rights of Child (CRC) Jacob Doek and UNICEF representative in Azerbaijan Hanaa Singer.
Minister told of the work being done in Azerbaijan to fulfill the obligations of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Mr. Mammadov underlined that Azerbaijan attaches great significance to the recommendations of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child to develop the juvenile justice.
Mr. Doek told of the international practice to prevent violence against children.
Mrs. Singer stated that Azerbaijan is an example for other states in the field of protection of the child’s rights.
The sides shared views on other issues of mutual concern.
