AZERBAIJAN’S MINISTER OF TAXES MEETS TURKISH AMBASSADOR
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov met with Turkish Ambassador in Baku Huseyn Avni Karslioglu.
Minister Mammadov spoke of economic reforms conducted in Azerbaijan, saying the country’s current development is an evidence that they were a success.
Mr. Mammadov said during the first four months of 2007, Turkish companies operating in Azerbaijan paid over 89 million AZN in taxes to the country’s state budget.
Huseyn Avni Karslioglu said he welcomes the level of political, economic and cultural relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
The Ambassador said Turkish businessmen want to be more actively involved in developing Azerbaijan’s economy.
Mr. Karslioglu offered to organize mutual visits by Turkish and Azerbaijani tax specialists in order to strengthen the bilateral ties between the two countries’ tax bodies.
The Turkish envoy said his country is ready to share experience to help Azerbaijan improve its tax system.
