AZERBAIJAN’S PROSECUTOR GENERAL MEETS CHAIRMAN OF BELARUS CONSTITUTIONAL COURT
Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov met with the visiting Belarus delegation led by Chairman of the Constitutional Court Grigoriy Vasilyevich.
Prosecutor General stressed dynamic development of Azerbaijan-Belarus bilateral relations and special role of reciprocal visits of the heads of both states and told of the work done in the Prosecutor’s Office.
Mr. Garalov underlined that the Academy of Justice, which is be created in accordance with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev’s decree on modernization of the judicial system of January 19, 2006, will play an important role in raising the skills of the law enforcement bodies’ officers,.
Mr. Garalov recalled the sitting of the Coordinating Council of the CIS Prosecutors General held in Minsk, May 2006 and participation of the Azerbaijan delegation there.
Mr. Garalov emphasized that memorandum on bilateral cooperation signed in Baku between the Constitutional Courts of Azerbaijan and Belarus is a great contribution to further enhancement of the ties.
Prosecutor General gave detailed information on Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan, about one million refugees and IDPs, Armenian terrorism, and Azerbaijan leadership’s efforts towards peaceful resolution of the conflict.
Chairman of the Belarus Constitutional Court Mr. Vasilyevich, in his turn, told of the judicial system of his country and activity of the Inter-departmental commission on fighting corruption led by Belarus Prosecutor General.
The sides shared views on other issues of mutual interest.
