BAKU TO HOST INT'L WOMEN’S FIELD HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
The Azerbaijan Federation of Field Hockey said, that from March 25-30, Baku will host the international women’s field hockey tournament marking the national Novruz bayrami (New Day holiday).
The two leg-round robin tournament will be attended by national teams of Azerbaijan, Italy and Ukraine and will have its matches played in the Republican Field Hockey Complex.
The competition will help the Azerbaijani team to prepare for the world championship’s qualifying round to be held in Italian capital, Rome, from April 25 to May 5.
Twelve teams will compete in two subgroups.
The Azerbaijani team is drawn in group B with New Zealand, the USA, Italy, Ireland and South Korea.
Group A has Ukraine, China, England, France, Japan and Scotland.
