BP SUCCESFULLY CONTINUING DRILLING PROGRAM.
British Petroleum-Azerbaijan is currently conducting some re-completion works on the A-11 producer in the Balakhany formation of the Chirag platform and will then finalise drilling and completion operations on A-21, which is an extended reach drilling water injector. BP plans to drill two more sidetrack producer wells on Chirag this year.
The company completed the fourth platform-drilled well (a producer) on the Central Azeri platform in June 2007. Following this BP commenced drilling another gas injector - the second to date and this is currently ongoing. BP plans to drill one more well from the CA platform by the end of 2007. Drilling activities on this well, which will be a water injector, will commence at the end of September following the planned shutdown of the CA platform.
Following completion of the sixth platform-drilled well - a producer on the West Azeri platform, BP commenced a 6-well conductor driving campaign in early July and this is currently ongoing. Upon completion of installaion of the conductors the company will drill the seventh platform well which will be a water injector. BP plans to drill one more producer well on WA by the end of 2007.
BP completed tie-back activities on all EA pre-drilled wells mid-2007 on the East Azeri platform. These included tie-back of seven production wells and a completion of a cuttings-re-injection well. On July 16, the company commenced drilling of the first platform well (which will be a water injector) and we plan to complete this well and commence drilling of one more water injection well by the end of 2007.
