BTA photojournalist Vladimir Shokov marks 50th birthday with anniversary Exhibition

Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) photojournalist Vladimir Shokov will celebrate his 50th birthday with an exhibition titled "50 Photographs for 50 Years", featuring images from his work over the past 25 years at BTA. The exhibition, which opens on July 24, has been organized by his wife, Anastasia Petrova, with the support of the Sofia Photojournalists' Club, which is hosting the event.
The photographs which will go on display capture moments from Bulgaria's public, political, cultural and sporting life, Shokov said.
Shokov's professional career at BTA began in the late 1990s. After completing secondary school, he joined the national news agency's printing house, where its iconic publications, including Paraleli and LIK, were produced. Following his military service, he returned to BTA as a driver in the transport department, where his interest in photojournalism was sparked through his interaction with BTA's staff photographers.
After completing part-time studies at the Julius Fucik National School of Printing and Photography, Shokov successfully competed for a position as a photojournalist in BTA's Pressphoto Department. Since 2002, he has worked as a photojournalist at the agency, covering some of the most significant events in Bulgaria and abroad through his camera lens.
