BTC TRANSPORTED OVER 157 BARRELS OF OIL FOR A YEAR
Exactly a year ago, 13 July, 2006, an official opening of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline to export Caspian oil to the world market, took place in the Turkish port of Ceyhan in the presence of the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey.
According to the specialists’ estimates, the pipeline planned to be exploited for the next 30 years, will soon transport 1 million barrels of oil a day.
The amount of revenue Azerbaijan is expected to receive from transportation to the European markets of oil extracted from Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field alone is estimated at $150 billion.
According to BP-Azerbaijan, the Baku- Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline has so far transported 157 million 18 thousand 82 barrels of oil to the world market.
