Bulgaria to provide humanitarian aid of EUR 50,000 to Lebanon

Bulgaria will provide EUR 50,000 humanitarian aid to UNICEF in Lebanon, caretaker Deputy Foreign Minister Maria Anguelieva said at an international conference in support of the people and sovereignty of Lebanon, which was organized at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron.
Addressing the forum, Anguelieva called for the implementation of Resolution 1701 and supported the diplomatic efforts of France and the US for a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, reports the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).She also stressed the need to address the humanitarian crisis and assist internally displaced persons, as well as the urgency of providing humanitarian access.
The aim of the conference was to contribute to efforts to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis for the safe return of the displaced, to mobilize the international community to meet the needs of the Lebanese people and to express solidarity and support for Lebanon's sovereignty, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry said.
The forum was attended by representatives of many countries and international organizations, including EU Member States, G20 countries, countries from the region, the UN, the World Bank, among others.
