Bulgarian Prime Minister: Azerbaijan offers the most profitable prices for gas

“Azerbaijan offers the most profitable prices for gas supply,” said Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov as he made a press statement together with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku.

The Bulgarian prime minister hailed the fact that Georgia is supplied with gas thanks to SOCAR's support.

“We have long been talking about the existence of two options for Bulgaria's gasification. We hope that the construction of an interconnector in Greece will begin in June, and that another interconnector will be launched in July on the border with Turkey,” Boyko Borisov said.

He also expressed his hope that “with President Ilham Aliyev`s blessing our company and SOCAR will reach agreement on supply of one billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas at profitable prices”.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister emphasized that if they achieve gasification of Bulgaria, the country will be able to ensure gas supplies to socially vulnerable groups of the population and they will not use wood, coal.

“One billion cubic meters of gas will supply a large number of households in Bulgaria with gas,” Boyko Borisov added.
