BUSH ADMINISTRATION’S POSITION ON SO-CALLED ARMENIAN GENOCIDE REMAINS UNCHANGED

Making comments about the resolution on the so-called Armenian genocide presented to the Congress of the United States, the USA ambassador in Ankara Ross Wilson has declared that the position of Bush administration concerning the question remains constant and as before, this document will not get support.

In the written statement of the ambassador it is said: “The Resolution on the tragic events which have occurred in last years of Ottoman Empire, has been presented to the Congress of the USA on January 30. The position of Bush Administration on the above-mentioned question remains unchanged. The government of the United States will resolutely oppose adoption of the resolution”.

Mr. Ross Wilson has added that the government will conduct discussions in order to preserve its position, and actively cooperate with congressmen at voting in the Commission of Foreign Affairs of the Congress.
