Central Election Commission holds another session
Baku, August 10 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Central Election Commission has today held its another session chaired by Mazahir Panahov.
Opening the meeting, CEC Secretary Arifa Mukhtarova provided an insight into the issue of confirmation of the candidacy of Ilham Heydar oghlu Aliyev nominated by the New Azerbaijan Party.
She noted the 5th Congress of the New Azerbaijan Party and Board of Directors of the Party nominated its chairman, President Ilham Aliyev as its candidate to run for presidency at this year`s elections.
A plenipotentiary representative of the Party submitted necessary documents to the CEC on August 5.
The Commission decided to confirm the candidacy of Ilham Heydar oghlu Aliyev nominated by the New Azerbaijan Party.
The CEC also considered the registration of plenipotentiary representatives of the New Azerbaijan Party.
YAP deputy chairman, MP Ali Ahmadov and deputy executive secretary, MP Mubariz Gurbanli were confirmed as plenipotentiary representatives, while deputy executive secretary, MP Siyavush Novruzov as plenipotentiary representative for financial issues.
Representatives of international organizations and journalists were present at the session.
