Chairman of Caucasian Muslims Office visits Karachay-Cherkessia
Baku, April 11 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikhulislam Allahshukur Pashazade has today visited the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic of the Russian Federation.
Pashazade, who attended a conference on “Priesthood as an important factor in strengthening Russia’s unity and international relations”, conveyed greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to head of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic Rashid Temrezov, Chairman of the Coordinating Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus, Chairman of the Presidium of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Karachay-Cherkessia Ismail Berdiyev, as well as the event participants.
Allahshukur Pashazade spoke of the incidents and radical movements in the Caucasus, and stressed the importance of the joint activities of religious figures in combating radicalism.
He also attended the events marking the 60th jubilee of Chairman of the Coordinating Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus, Chairman of the Presidium of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Karachay-Cherkessia Ismail Berdiyev.
Pashazade also met members of the Supreme Religious Council of Caucasian Peoples.
Allahshukur Pashazade then met head of the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic of the Russian Federation Rashid Temrezov.
Rashid Temrezov recalled his visit to Azerbaijan and a meeting with President Ilham Aliyev.
He also lauded Azerbaijan’s rapid development.
Rashid Temrezov invited Pashazade to attend the opening of the newly built Jume Mosque, and asked him to pass on his greetings to the Azerbaijani President.
