CICA Women Council`s inaugural meeting voices significant messages

On April 14, the first meeting of the Women Council of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) was held in Baku.
Addressing the event, Bahar Muradova, Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs, expressed her confidence that the CICA Women Council will strengthen mutual trust, share best practices, and promote women’s rights, contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable future.
Kairat Sarybay, CICA Secretary General, emphasized that the Women Council reflects a commitment to turning dialogue into action and promoting more inclusive governance through women’s participation. He thanked Azerbaijan’s Chairmanship for initiating its creation.
Noting that the CICA has grown into a mature multilateral platform promoting peace, stability, and cooperation among Asian states, the Secretary General underscored that the current geopolitical and socio-economic challenges make its mission more relevant than ever, calling for concrete initiatives to strengthen trust, coordination, and regional development.
Then, the meeting featured statements by representatives of member states.
The session concluded with the adoption of the CICA Women Council recommendation document.
