"The Eurasian Union idea sooner or later will become reality in some form on the whole Eurasian continent", said Nursultan Nazarbayev, president of Kazakhstan at international scientific conference "Eurasianism: from the idea to practice", on 2 April in Astana.

"I continue to sincerely believe in the Eurasian idea," - the president has stressed. "Eurasia is big and the continent sooner or later will come to the necessity of global unification," - the head of state believes. "The economic interests of Eurasian countries will become the main moment in this union," - N. Nazarbayev says. "Old Europe cannot live without Asia, where the main human and natural potential of the planet is concentrated," - the president has observed. The Asian potential and European technologies must be united, N. Nazarbayev believes.

However, the president has said, "it is exactly on Eurasian continent that the majority of military conflicts take place." "This problem can also be resolved by common efforts," - he has stressed.

Earlier it was reported that the idea of Eurasian Union creation was expressed by the president of Kazakhstan on 29 March, 1994.
