CONSTITUTIONAL COURTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND BELARUS SIGN MOU ON COOPERATION

Chairmen of Constitutional Courts of Azerbaijan and Belarus - Farhad Abdullayev and Grigory Vasilevich - signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation in Baku on Tuesday.

Following the signing ceremony, Farhad Abdullayev said the agreement will create wide prospects for the enhancement of bilateral relations between the two countries` law enforcement authorities.

According to Mr. Abdullayev, the deal provides for the information and experience exchange as well as joint efforts towards the strengthening of the protection of human rights and freedoms and towards the establishment of democratic state.

Chairman of Belarusian Constitutional Court Grigory Vasilevich

said that while in Azerbaijan he witnessed the country`s huge development.

On Belarus-Azerbaijan economic relations, Mr. Vasilevich said in the first half of 2007, trade between the two countries exceeded the whole last year`s figures.

He stressed the memorandum`s importance to both Belarus and Azerbaijan.
