DELEGATION OF JUSTICE MINISTRY VISITS TURKEY
The signing of cooperation protocol between the two countries Justice Ministries during President Heydar Aliyev’s 2001 visit to Turkey has given additional impetus to development of effective cooperation in legal sphere.
After that, with the aim to expand and qualitatively deepen the cooperation, a Cooperation Program covering various spheres of justice has been signed between the Justice Ministries of Azerbaijan and Turkey.
At the invitation of Turkish Justice Minister, Security Council member Jamil Chichek, a delegation of Azerbaijan led by Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov has recently visited Turkey.
On the first day of staying in Turkey, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the tomb of the founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kamal Ataturk, where the Minister left an inscription in the Memory Book.
In the framework of the visit Fikrat Mammadov met Turkish Justice Minister Jamil Chichek, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Mustafa Bumin, Chairman of the Supreme Court Eraslan Ozkaya, Chairman of the Supreme Administrative Court Ender Chetinkaya, Prosecutor General Nuri Ok and members of the Supreme Council of Judges, as well as visited institutions of confinement meeting modern international requirements.
The Minister was received by first deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Mehmet Ali Shahin as well. During the meeting the parties have exchange views on further development of the relations of friendship and brotherhood between the two countries.
In Istanbul, Minister Fikrat Mammadov also visited the monument to creator of the Azerbaijan state independence Heydar Aliyev, as well and the park named after the nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people.
