Baku, July 7, (AZERTAC). Vice-speaker of the Milli Majlis (parliament of Azerbaijan) Bahar Muradova met Friday with delegation of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers “AGO” Monitoring Group led by Swedish ambassador to the Council of Europe Per Sjogren.

Bahar Muradova said Azerbaijan has been a member of the Council of Europe for almost seven years and cooperated with CoE bodies very closely. B. Muradova updated Per Sjogren on the reforms implemented to honor Azerbaijan’s CoE obligations. According to her, the parliament worthily fulfilled the tasks it had taken upon itself and ratified a number of international conventions.

She gave insight into the peace talks on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying Azerbaijan remains committed to peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Per Sjogren said Ago Group closely monitors the situation in Azerbaijan and appreciates the progressive steps taken.

The meeting also focused on a number of issues of mutual interest.
