DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN MEETS WITH BELARUSIAN FM
Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov met May 3 with Belarus’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Martynov to discuss political, economic, cultural ties between the two countries, execution of documents signed during Belarus President’s visit to Azerbaijan, including a deal on friendship and cooperation.
S. Martynov said mutual visits of the Heads of States give an impetus to development of relationships between the two countries, stressing a need to develop ties at the level of ministries. He pointed out that there is potential for expanding economic cooperation between both countries.
K. Khalafov said Azerbaijan-Belarus relations are developing rapidly, and both countries effectively cooperate within UN and OSCE. He highlighted an importance of economic cooperation between the countries, and stressed the expediency of increasing the trade turnover.
The meeting also focused on other issues of mutual concern.
