DISCUSSIONS UNDERWAY ON AZERBAIJAN`S MEMBERSHIP TO WTO
Within the frameworks of its entrance, the Azerbaijan government continues the discussions with the member states of the World Trade Organization on its obligations related to amendments to the legislation, the foreign trade regime, services, export of goods and etc.
Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry’s First Secretary on WTO affairs, Shovgy Mehdizade, said some amendments are required to the Tax Code of the country.
The MFA official also said Azerbaijan carries out bilateral talks with the United Sates, the European Union, Korea, Japan and Taiwan Province of Republic of China, while multisided talks within the frameworks of the working group.
In accordance to the decree of the Azerbaijan President issued in August of the last year, the process of bringing the legislation into compliance with the requirements of the WTO is underway, as 25 percents of the legislation database have been already developed.
