The 6th meeting of the Customs Heads Council (CHC) of the Economic Cooperation Organization member countries started 26 September in Baku.

The event gathered heads and representatives of the Customs Services from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.

In 3-day meeting, the heads of delegations will deliver lectures and consider the previously adopted decisions. Some common agreements on creation and use of database on contraband and customs offences, the ECO frame agreement on transit cargoes will be amended. Final ECO Agreement on reciprocal administrative assistance will be approved.

Chairman of the State Custom Committee Aydin Aliyev, ECO Deputy Secretary General Mustafa Demirezen and others stressed necessity of close cooperation among the member countries in combat against contraband and customs offences.

As reported, the Customs Service of Iran will join the above-mentioned Agreement.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev has been elected chairman of meeting.
