Baku, September 29 (AZERTAC). The Embassy of Saudi Arabia has organized Monday an official reception to mark the country`s public holiday.

Opening the event, Saudi Arabia`s ambassador Fahd bin Ali al-Dusari said his country attaches significant importance to boosting relationship with “fraternal countries including Azerbaijan”. According to him, Saudi Arabia will further strengthen its cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Attending the event, Azerbaijani Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev congratulated the people of Saudi Arabia on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev.

Garayev said “friendship between the two countries` peoples have old history”.

He pointed out visits by national leader Heydar Aliyev in 1994 and President Ilham Aliyev in 2005 to Saudi Arabia and documents signed there opened new opportunities for expansion of bilateral relations.

MPs, ambassadors to Baku and others attended the reception.
