ENERGY SECURITY TO BECOME MAIN ISSUE AT BSEC JUBILEE SUMMIT
The East-West energy corridor and energy security will be in the focus of the 15th summit meeting of the heads of the member-states of the Organization of Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) in Istanbul, June 25.
The event will bring together the leaders of 12 BSEC member states and 13 observer countries, as well as the heads of the UN, European Union, OSCE, the World Bank and World Trade Organization (WTO).
The final declaration of the summit will highlight prospects of the BSEC’s activity, the cooperation with EU on development of energy and transport corridors.
The fact that Great Britain, Kazakhstan, Iran, Hungary and Cyprus (Greek part) applied to the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation for observer status is understood as increase of the BSEC’s importance.
