Fifth International Gas Congress kicks off in Turkmenistan

Baku, May 20 (AZERTAC). The fifth International Gas Congress has today started in the city of Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan.

The two-day congress brings together delegates from Azerbaijan, Russia, Pakistan, Algeria, Tajikistan, Iran, Korea, the USA, India, Bangladesh, and People`s Republic of China, as well as representatives of the European Union, Shell, Chevron and LG companies.

SOCAR Vice-President for Strategic Development Tofig Gahramanov made a speech on “Stable and safe transit of gas: infrastructure, environment and transit”.

The congress focuses on the issues related to stable and reliable gas transit and the prospects for Turkmenistan's oil and gas sector.
