Finnish, Swiss ex-presidents visit Azerbaijan

Baku, April 16 (AZERTAC). Former presidents of Finland and Switzerland Tarja Kaarina Halonen and Michelin Calmy-Rey will visit Baku to attend the South Caucasus forum on May 6-8.

According to the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Halonen is a member of the Global Leaders Alliance. The main goal of the alliance is the active participation of the supreme group consisting of respected scientists and former heads of state and government in establishing the political, cultural and religious understanding among civilizations in a globalizing world. The first meeting of the alliance will be held on May 7-8 in Baku.

The forum will be co-organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Nizami Ganjavi International Center, the Foundation for Peace and Ganja city Executive Power. The event will bring together more than 400 specialists from 60 countries, as well as more than 50 ex-presidents.
