First gas from Absheron field expected in 2019

“The first well at the Absheron gas field will be drilled as early as the third quarter of the next year. The first gas is scheduled to be produced here in the third or fourth quarter of 2019,” said first vise-president of SOCAR, academician Khoshbakht Yusifzade as he addressed the first Eurasian conference of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) in Baku.

“Currently, the contractor is drawing up a plan for the development of the field.” “The final investment decision on the preliminary production will be taken in the last quarter of 2017,” he added.
