FM: Brazil interested in energy cooperation with Azerbaijan

Baku, February 2 (AZERTAC). Brazil has expressed interest in energy cooperation with Azerbaijan as the two countries` foreign ministers met on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

Brazilian FM Antonio Patriota told his counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov that Brazil regarded Azerbaijan a very stable country which played an important role in the South Caucasus.

The ministers discussed prospects for developing the bilateral economic relations, and expressed intention to take advantage of the existing potential.

Mammadyarov highlighted Azerbaijan`s economic achievements.

The FM said Azerbaijan was interested in boosting its cooperation with Latin American countries.

The ministers pointed out to the Azerbaijan-Brazil cooperation in the field of sport, adding it contributes to developing the relations on all fronts.

Mammadyarov touched upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The FM said Armenia had to withdraw its armed forces from occupied territories of Azerbaijan, saying this will open up new opportunities for the settlement of the conflict and development of the region.
