GEORGIAN FIRST LADY VISITS HEALTH MINISTRY
Minister Oqtay Shiraliyev informed the Georgian guest about health reforms conducted in Azerbaijan, stressing the active role of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in this direction.
Oqtay Shiraliyev said that the Azerbaijani Government and the World Bank have signed today the agreement envisaging allocation of $50 million for health reforms in the country.
He stressed the need to establish bilateral ties between the two countries’ health ministries.
Mr. Shiraliyev said Georgian scientists are participating in various medical events in Baku.
Sandra Elizabeth Roelofs stressed the need to step up the cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Georgian doctors in fighting tuberculosis.
She invited Oqtay Shiraliyev to participate in the international conference on tuberculosis due to start in Tbilisi in November.

Later same day, Georgian first lady Mrs. Sandra Elizabeth Roelofs visited TB (tuberculosis) clinic #4 in Baku.
Health Minister Oqtay Shiraliyev informed the guest about the activity of the clinic as well as the work done to combat tuberculosis in Azerbaijan.
The Georgian first lady viewed the wards as well as had a conversation with the clinic’s employees.
