GEORIGA’S ACTING PRESIDENT MEETS RELIGIOUS FIGURES
Head of the Caucasus Moslems Clerical Office Allahshukur Pashazade and other religious leaders took part in inauguration of the newly reconstructed church in front of Georgia Parliament. They are in Georgia to attend the celebrations on the 30th anniversary of appointment of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II.
The guests familiarized themselves with the photo exhibition about life and activity of Ilia II. Acting President of Georgia Nino Burjanadzeh gave an official reception in honor of the religious figures. Mrs. Burjanadze emphasized special role of the church in protection of independence and stability of the country. She underlined the useful cooperation between the government of Georgia and the church.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Georgia Namig Aliyev also attended the event.
