“Although some nominal newspapers were established in Guadeloupe in the 1960s, they did not talk about colonialism. Until 1990, local journalists served the French state and its colonial regime,” said Danik Zandronis, a journalist and producer at ZCL News, during a conference dedicated to Guadeloupe.

He noted that magazines in Guadeloupe were developed similarly to those in France, and that their main purpose was to promote France’s political agenda.

According to Danik Zandronis, the people of Guadeloupe continue to suffer under colonial dominance.
