GUAM has become a very serious international organization within a short time, President Ilham Aliyev said June 19 at the second GUAM summit in Baku. According to him, participation of Heads of States and Governments of GUAM member countries as well as Presidents of Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Vice President of Bulgaria and delegations of Latvia, Estonia and USA is an indicator of this fact.

President pointed out that goals and intentions of GUAM are of interest to the friendly nations. He said participation of EU member states in the meeting is of great importance for future activity of the GUAM.

Saying discussions are revolving around the new format of regional cooperation in the Caspian, Black and Baltic Seas basin, President stated “our economic relations, political intentions, active political dialogue, as well as the real and concrete programs and projects developed are what unite us even stronger.”

“The organization GUAM is playing an important role in the regional cooperation on the Eurasian continent, and the attention paid by the friendly countries to this organization, of course, creates good conditions for solving our outstanding tasks,” President added.
