Heydar Aliyev Foundation to arrange cultural event in Cologne
Baku, November 18 (AZERTAC). The Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijan`s Embassy to Germany will organize a cultural event in Cologne.
To be held at Gürzenich hall, the event will feature performance of the Azerbaijan State Camera Orchestra.
The Orchestra will play works of Azerbaijani composers Uzeyir Hajibayov, Fikrat Amirov, Gara Garayev, Niyazi, Jovdat Hajiyev, Tofiq Guliyev, Rauf Hajiyev and Alakbar Tagiyev.
The event will also feature a photo exhibition titled “Germany through the eyes of an artist”, where 19 paintings will be on display.
The concept of the photo exhibition is to present works of young artists, who have never been in Germany, with a creative thinking. As part of the project held since 2008, three winners of the contest travel to Germany, as well as visit galleries and museums in Berlin and attend master classes of famous German artists each year.
The photos reflecting the life of Germans in Azerbaijan since 19th century will be showcased in a separate stand at the exhibition. The photos are about the Siemens brothers who built Europe`s largest copper smelting plant in Gadabay region of Azerbaijan.
