HUNGARY KEENS TO BOOST COOPERATION WITH AZERBAIJAN

E. Mammadyarov said the first embassy of Azerbaijan in the region was opened just in Hungary, expressing hope for opening Hungary’s embassy in Azerbaijan soon.
The parties exchanged views on prospects of boosting cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, energy, agriculture, transport and other fields.
Noting the last economic achievements of Azerbaijan, Mrs. Kinga Goncz said the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Hungary is lower than the existing potential.
She said her country attaches great importance to the energy security, and depends on abroad for energy carriers. “We are interested to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan which has obtained notable successes in oil and gas industry”, she underlined.
Then, the Azerbaijani Minister briefed the visitor on the history of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict which, he said, has a negative impact on peace and stability in region. E. Mammadyarov once more declared Azerbaijan’s fair position in the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict.
Also other questions of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
After the meeting, Ministers of Foreign Affairs held a press conference.
