INTERIOR MINISTRIES OF AZERBAIJAN AND RUSSIA DISCUSSED BORDER COOPERATION QUESTIONS
Questions of activation of frontier cooperation have been considered at a working meeting of delegations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and Russia which took place on May 27 in Khachmaz, Azerbaijani border town. Delegation of Azerbaijan was headed by Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov, delegation of Russia - by the Deputy Minister of internal affairs, Colonel-General Arkady Edelev.
Participants of the meeting paid tribute to memory of the nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, laid flowers on his monument.
Parties exchanged views on cooperation of law-enforcement bodies of the two countries and made constructive suggestions to improve it. Priority will be given to maintenance of security on border territories, fighting terrorism, extremism, as well as other forms of transnational organized crimes.
Parties decided to set up a permanent Working Group of coordination of activities of the interior bodies on the borderlines and also hold a working meeting of the territorial and transport bodies of the two countries.
