International Astronautical Federation`s flag presented to Azerbaijan

The 73rd International Astronautical Congress (IAC), hosted by France, has today ended. The event, organized under the motto “Space for All”, was attended by more than 9,300 delegates from 110 countries.
At the closing ceremony, Sameddin Asadov, chairman of the Board of Azercosmos, made a presentation on the 74th International Astronautical Congress which will be held in Azerbaijan in 2023, and invited government agencies, private companies and scientific societies to participate in the event in Baku.
Then a video demonstrating Azerbaijan’s space activities, history, culture and tourism opportunities was shown.
The flag of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) was presented to the delegation of Azerbaijan, which will host the 74th Congress next year.
The members, bureau and committees of the federation expressed their satisfaction at the fact that such an important event took place in Baku.
During the days of the congress, the Azercosmos delegation participated in a large number of plenary sessions, scientific conferences, technical sessions and business meetings. The international space community has been invited to the next event that will be held in Azerbaijan next year.
Also, during the scientific sessions and technical programmes held within the congress, professors and young professionals of Azerbaijan presented their scientific research works in the field of space to a wide audience. The International Astronautical Federation accepted a total of 34 research articles from Azerbaijan. These research articles reflect law in space, the installation of new types of telescopes in space, solutions for assessing climate change using remote observation satellites, the significance of model satellite competitions, such as “CanSat Azerbaijan” in the field of space science, education and training and their holding at the regional level and other topics.
Baku hosted the International Astronautical Congress for the first time in 1973. After fifty years, the global space community will meet again in Azerbaijan.
