Iranian Border Guards Killed Near Pakistan Border
Baku, October 26 (AZERTAC). Iran`s state news agency IRNA is reporting up to 17 Iranian border guards have been killed and five wounded near the country`s south-eastern border with Pakistan.
Reports said the guards were killed in clashes with "armed bandits" in the Saravan region of the Sistan- Baluchistan Province late on October 25.
IRNA said the group had crossed into Iran from Pakistan.
It was not clear whether the "armed bandits" were drug smugglers or rebels.
