Israel Today: Israel bolsters increasingly important relations with Azerbaijan

Baku, June 8, AZERTAC
The Jerusalem-based “Israel Today” new agency has published an article by Israeli political analyst and journalist, CEO of the Dona Gracia Center for Diplomacy Rachel Avraham headlined “Israel bolsters increasingly important relations with Azerbaijan.”
The article reads: “Speaking at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, at an event honoring the 75th anniversary of the independence of the State of Israel, Israel’s President Isaac Herzog proclaimed that there are many reasons for Azerbaijan and Israel to come closer together, to cooperate more and to strengthen their existing relations. He argued that the friendship between Israel and Azerbaijan is “historic” and has great “geo-strategic significance.”
Israel’s president noted that both Israel and Azerbaijan are nations that are proud of their traditions. The fact that these two countries are able to cooperate, even though Israel is the Jewish state and Azerbaijan is majority Muslim, has great significance, he said. “Azerbaijan is a close friend of the State of Israel. We are answering the racism and the hatred with love.”
